Simple Felt Initial Ornament Tutorial

 - Day 2 of Blogmas 2024 -

This simple craft requires no prior knowledge of sewing, as this tutorial shows how to make a felt ornament thanks to hand-stitching.

All you need to remember while sewing the felt together is to make sure that there isn't too much room between stitches.

We used a hemming stitch to do this; stitching in a rotation, puncturing the needle always from the bottom layer through to the top layer, and never the other way around.

Materials:

  1. Embroidery needle
  2. Embroidery thread
  3. Felt
  4. Polyester filling
Instructions:

1. Trace the initial on a folded felt square and cut.

2. Sew both pieces closely together, leaving one end unsewn (for the stuffing later).

3. Fill the ornament with the polyester filling and finish sewing all around, making a knot before cutting off the thread.

4. Pass another thread through a stitch to make a loop. Knot the loop, and tada! This super simple, kitsch craft is done and ready for gifting!
